Overview
Refunds for digital items are not so black and white. Because of the nature of digital, virtual and downloadable products, and being that I aim to keep the price of my digital products fairly low, I do have a non-refundable policy by default with limited exceptions. For instance, when a consumer makes a duplicate purchase of a workbook or if they experience a legitimate product defect or error upon download.
Why? In order to retain the dignity and security of my business (from refund scams of digital items). Therefore, if consumers are not familiar with digital purchases, downloads and printable products, I am willing and able to assist where, when and how I can. Consumers will have to fully rely on tech support for digital products elsewhere. Purchasing a digital product without having fairly basic computer tech skills and knowledge, in most cases, will not be an eligible reason for refund. Hence why on every listing description I unpack the necessary steps you should take prior to purchasing a downloadable product.
Therefore, this is a forewarning to consumers: you will be expected to have some level of knowledge pertaining to email, links, downloads, printing, Adobe Acrobat Reader and PDF files as well as how to install and access these things from your computer. My workbooks are currently all PDF files and require the Adobe Reader software installed on your computer (or other device, including your phone) to properly access, open and utilize PDF files. If you are unsure whether you have Adobe already installed on your computer (or device), do a quick search from your computer’s task bar (usually located at the bottom of your screen) and search Adobe Acrobat.
Refunds
You may request a refund, but in doing so does not guarantee a refund will be approved or granted. All refund requests must be made within 72 hours of purchase. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Refund Scams
Return policies are in place for a reason – not only to ensure the satisfaction and happiness of customers but also to ensure the integrity of the business. Unfortunately, refund scams are increasingly common in our digital age, some of which are:
- False non-delivery claims: the buyer will claim they never received their product. They will also be unwilling to provide enough evidence to suggest the case. They will demand a refund whilst keeping their money and the product.
- Claiming product damage/corruption/error: the buyer will claim the product is damaged or corrupted upon purchase (without cooperation in providing proof of said corrupted product or error received). Oftentimes, to seem aloof and average, they’ll suggest the product “doesn’t work” without any attempt at seeming to actually want the product but to simply get their money back. They will demand a refund whilst keeping their money and the product.
- Over-use of unmet expectations: the buy will claim the product does not meet their expectations or that the product does not match the description. They will demand a refund whilst keeping their money and the product.
- Using fake or stolen accounts
- Targeting the return system and it’s verification weak spots
- Refund policy abuse
Therefore, I may deny a refund if I find evidence of fraud, refund abuse and manipulative behavior that grants me a counterclaim. *If you were to read Apple’s refund policy, they explicitly state a similar stance, therefore a higher level of effort in protection for digital and virtual products is encouraged. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the return policy, contact me.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact me.
Sale + discounted items
Sale or discounted products, excluding the use of coupon codes at checkout, cannot be refunded – no exceptions.
Exchanges
I do not offer exchanges for digital products.
Corrupt files
In some rare cases, sometimes downloaded files can become corrupt and deliver an error when trying to download or access downloadable content. Malware security and pop-up blocker features on your computer and browser can also intercept and prevent you from being able to download and access certain files. While I do my best to ensure tried and tested quality, security and optimization on my end, the web-o-sphere is not infallible, so sometimes broken links, system incompatibility and improperly downloaded files can and do occur.
Again, I am willing to work with you as best as I can from my end, but I can only do so much without being in front of your screen. If you run into similar trouble or feel you have received corrupt files, I recommend emailing me screen captures of the error(s) in question that you are receiving so that I may be able to attempt at resolving the issue or offer approval for a refund.
